E-Cig Education...have you been schooled?

As I was reading through posts on our Facebook page, I stumbled across a comment from a customer--calling on the electronic cigarette industry to educate the world about our products.  Citing the fact that simple fear of the unknown causes much of the hostility toward e-cig use.  Of course, the tangled web that has been woven by big tobacco feeds much of the anti-e-cig legislation that is seeping into the U.S...leaving those who actually love their electronic cigarette floundering for a way to keep what they treasure most--their health and their freedom.

There are accusations out there that state lawmakers are working overtime to do away with e-cigs because they don't want to loose the almighty dollar forked over by smokers nationwide for their regular cigarettes. No matter what the reason, I certainly feel that there is much more to all the proposed e-cig bans than just "fear of the product"--which is what they claim to be the motivating factor behind their decision.

If you use an e-cig in public at all, you have had the chance to share--probably more than you care to--with others around you about what you are using.  Even though e-cig commercials are hitting the airwaves and they cover the news media (good or bad) there are still an astounding number of people who have never heard of them.

One suggestion made by our Facebook fan was for all the c-cig companies to join together to create a national ad campaign of sorts..buy out billboards, airtime on television, radio commercials and whatever else may be necessary to spread the word about the good that e-cigs bring to so many.  In and ideal world--perhaps.   But the challenge is so much bigger than that.

If knowledge is in fact power, then electronic cigarette users are holding the key to it all within themselves.  Don't be afraid to share what you know--and how your e-cig has helped change your life.  Tell those around you about their good and work to drown out the voices of those who oppose their use.
