I never realized just what I was missing until I ended a 15-year dance with tobacco cigarettes.
I remember the first time I smoked. It was a warm winter day in West Texas. After weeks of turning cigarettes down, I said, "Why not?" I cannot reclaim those fifteen years, but I can tell you what I have regained since I stubbed out my last cigarette.
I have long been an outside smoker. I donned coats, hats, gloves, and more just to kill myself with a cigarette. Every cigarette I smoked stole approximately ten minutes of my life. At 1/2 a pack of cigarettes per day, multiplied by ten minutes, equates to 100 minutes of my life wasted every single day. Over the course of 15 years, I have wasted 9,125 hours or 380 days. I can never regain those days, but I can take advantage of the next 380 days of my life!
