  • A Smoker's Diet

    A study published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health looked at the diets of smokers, non-smokers, and former smokers. The findings of the study concluded that people who actively smoke have lower intake of fiber, vitamin C, beta carotene, and vitamin E. All of which are important to the body.

    Fiber is a carbohydrate that the body cannot digest. It is found in many foods including whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. Fiber appears to reduce the risk of developing various conditions including heart disease. Vitamin C protects against immune system deficiencies, cardiovascular disease, eye disease, and skin wrinkling. Beta carotene protects against toxins and cancer formation, colds, flu, and infections. Vitamin E promotes heart and respiratory health. Continue Reading
