Thank You to Our Service Men for Our Freedom

Thank you to the men and women who have spent their adult-years protecting and preserving our freedoms. It is the dedication soldiers bring to the office every day that ensures our ability to live our lives the way we desire -- from the clothes we wear to the food we eat; those choices are an every day reminder of how valuable our Military personnel are in our lives.

It isn't just those serving who are risking their lives. Behind every soldier is a family who knows that this deployment could mean the end of life as they know. Many of those families band together and run organizations that work hard to encourage, educate, and supply other families with the necessities they need. Those waiting at home spend hours planning coming-home celebrations for soldiers in their units, mindful that not all soldiers are returning home to their families... Though they will return home for final resting.

With an increase in number of soldiers returning home through the end of the year, many military bases will be buzzing with activity. Soldiers will spend many days in a row with only a few hours of sleep between welcoming troops back on American soil. Their families know that the time spent away is worth it to know more families will be reunited together once again.

Veterans Day commemorates the day in 1918 when the cease-fire agreement was signed, bringing end to World War I. While we honor those lives long lost of yesteryear, we must remember to honor those of today.

As your day continues forward, please take time to remember all of those who have given their lives in the name of Freedom. We may not always agree with the military action being taken, but we owe our troops support for their unyielding strength and perseverance to ensure our right to step freely into the world and live.
