Are E-Cigs Too Easy for Kids to Get?
The electronic cigarette industry is a growing and productive part of the smokers world. With new and challenging smoking bans being presented in every public place from restaurants and bars, to casinos and sporting arenas, smokers have virtually no where to take a drag. Since the inception of the electronic cigarette, smokers have been able to find and regain freedom that they once had. Unfortunately those who oppose electronic cigarette use (such as the FDA), continue to make claims that electronic cigarettes are not only dangerous but also targeted toward teens and young adults.

Electronic Cigarette Tug-of-War Continues
In an August article from the Wall Street Journal, the battle between the FDA and electronic cigarette retailers across the country is brought to light. The financial and political struggle that these products have faced has brought about both concern and hope for the smoking world. On one side, we have the FDA–who continues to seize shipments of electronic cigarettes from China in an attempt to control their use in the U.S. On the other hand, we have thousands of Americans and others around the world who have found their only hope in the electronic cigarette, either for smoking cessation or a change from traditional tobacco products. The fate of what is now a growing industry, estimated at $100 million in annual sales and climbing, hinges on oral arguments that are headed for appellate court in Washington D.C. next month.

E-Cig Use Banned On Central Michigan Campus
Poor Central Michigan University students–they are just one of many educational institutions with uneducated faculty and staff. Colleges across the country have initiated smoking bans that will prevent the use of cigarettes, pipes, or other tobacco products by student staff and faculty. This is no new news, and everybody jumped on the bandwagon. Unfortunately, I’m now finding that along with traditional cigarettes, e-cigs are also being banned. Central Michigan University is now banning the use of electronic cigarettes on campus, citing that they are waiting for the FDA to approve first. This really makes me laugh, and it makes me sad at the same time. Because electronic cigarettes are nothing like traditional tobacco products, and if we are waiting on the FDA to approve them before use, we will be waiting a really long time.

Another Thank You
For several weeks I have been working with those who love The Safe Cig from a variety of media sources. I have been focusing on Facebook and working with our customers and fan base to find out why they love their e-cig. This Sucks.
Okay folks. This is the funniest research I have read since I started this job. An article which is supposed to be very serious–and was published in the publication Nicotine and Tobacco Research. The study conductors were looking at health risks associated with how hard you have to suck on an e-cig.

Two Sides to the E-Cig Story
My job requires that I sift through page after page of tobacco research, individual commentaries, and public opinion and the tobacco industry as a whole when it comes to electronic cigarettes. In an attempt to bring you accurate and up-to-date information, what I see more and more, seems to be that there really are two sides to every story. We at The Safe Cig have confidence in a quality product that has helped thousands of people reach their smoking cessation goals or have given an alternative to traditional cigarettes.

Electronic Cigarettes Banned For Youth in Minnesota
If I asked most of you when you started smoking, the majority would tell me it was probably in your teens. We all know the majority of smokers pick up this habit as young adults, and I am also sure that the majority of you would agree that that was probably not your best decision. However, Minnesota has passed into current law regulations that ban electronic cigarette sales as well as smokeless tobacco products and cigars to teens–this is nothing new, you say?

Wisconsin Doctor Presents False Information: Slams Electronic Cigarettes
By now, you may have read the article written by Dr. Michael Miller–a physician and member of the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Medical Society. He is also the medical director at the Herrington Recovery Center at Rogers Memorial Hospital in Oconomowoc. I read Dr. Miller’s article a week or more ago, and while I was reading I was just thinking “where did this guy get this?” In an op-ed piece for a local newspaper, the Milwuaukee Journal-Sentinel, Dr. Miller writes what appears to be a highly authoratative article on a subject that he presents himself as knowing all about–electronic cigarettes. When in actuality it was incorrect and highly misleading to its readers.

NorthHampton Health Department To Regulate Use of Electronic Cigarettes
The North Hampton Massachusetts Health Department has been holding hearings to determine if electronic cigarette usage by locals should be banned right along with traditional cigarettes. Supporters of the ban say that they don’t know “enough about” these devices to condone their use, despite atttempts by local residents to educate them. Citing the fact that they believe them to be laced with chemicals and toxins that could be unhealthy, the health department is continuing to debate how the issue should be handled.
